Waterproof Wire Splices: A Small Solution for a Big Problem
Waterproof wire splices are used to ensure the longevity of your dog fence and are needed in the installation process as well. First of all, our Waterproof Wire Splices can be utilized to repair or replace your existing dog fence wire. Even though our Boundary Wire is covered in a high-quality polyethylene covering, if your wires are not spliced correctly, corrosion can set in, as a result.
For example, on a small piece of land, it may be relatively easy to locate a corroded piece of dog fence wire. On the other hand, on property with multiple acres, it will be much harder to locate. To avoid this situation altogether, use our Waterproof Wire Splices in the first place.
Splicing two wires together is simple. All that you need to do is take two ends of the wires you want to connect together and twist them together. Twist the included wire nut around the ends. Next, insert the wire nut inside of the waterproof capsule. This encases and protects these joined wires together tightly, with a waterproofed seal.
Our waterproof Electric Dog Fence Splices can be used with every one of the following gauges of dog fence wire: 20, 18, 16, 14, and 12. Because our splices are made in the USA with imported parts, we stand behind their quality.
.Troubleshooting Your Electric Dog Fence
Do you need help troubleshooting your existing electric dog fence that seems to be malfunctioning? Is your dog breaking through the perimeter that you have set for him or her? The first thing to check is to see if your dog’s collar is tight enough. The second thing to check would be to make sure that your dog’s collar battery is still good. If you have checked both of these, it is time to check your transmitter. Be sure that the indicator light is lit, and that it is not alarming.
Let’s say that your collar and transmitter are both functioning exactly as they should. The next thing to check would be your dog fence wire, and your splices. You might have to dig up your dog fence wire to see where your wire has come apart.
About Surge Protection
Along with utilizing waterproof wire splices, you should also use a lightning surge protector. Our surge protector plugs directly into the wall outlet. Your transmitter can plug directly into your surge protector. Here is how it works to protect your dog fence transmitter. If lightning strikes your boundary wire outside, it travels into your surge protector first, and then dissipates there. This prevents the transmitter from shorting out. If lightning strikes and you don’t have a surge protector in place, your dog fence transmitter goes unprotected. If you have a lightning surge protector, your investment stays protected.
Compatibility with Other Systems
Not only do our Waterproof Wire Splices work with eXtreme Dog Fence Systems, they work with ALL other electric dog fence systems, including:
