Labrador Retrievers are synonymous with sweet and loving. Labradors tend to be very active and their very playful disposition makes them one of the happiest dog breeds. Appreciated for their friendly personalities, Labradors are the most popular breed of dogs in the United States, Canada, Australia and the UK. Popular as therapy dogs, Labradors are also trained to help the visually-impaired and people with autism.

Also known for their happy disposition and loving nature, Golden Retrievers are friendly to everyone, even strangers. They are sporting dogs who love to be in the water. Active and energetic in nature, Golden Retrievers are relatively easy to train. Their coat keeps them warm and repels water. Well suited for living in the country, Golden Retrievers love to roam. They are also a smart and devoted breed that loves play and exercise. They are helpful in such capacities as guide dogs, hunting dogs and in search and rescue situations.

Italian Greyhound

Among the happiest breed of dogs is the Italian Greyhound. They come in about 16 different colors and have a skinny body and tucked stomach. Italian Greyhounds love kissing their owners. They are alert, sensitive and playful. They make a great companion and enjoy being around people in general. They can run very fast, being able to reach 25 miles an hour. They also have a keen sense of sight. Athletic and intelligent, Italian Greyhounds are also a bit mischievous.

Bearded Collie

The Bearded Collie is known as a happy herding dog. One of Britain’s oldest breeds, they enjoy being around others and getting plenty of attention. A medium-sized breed, the Bearded Collie has a bright, inquiring facial expression. They have great charisma which shows with their happy smile. They enjoy exercising in all types of weather as they are rather active and energetic.

Bichon Frise

A cheerful, small dog, the Bichon Frise has a lot of love to give. Typically found with a white coat and black eyes, the Bichon Frise resembles a child’s toy. Great lap dogs, they are also playful, energetic and curious. Often mistaken for poodles, the Bichon Frise has fluffy hair and a compact little body. They are unique in that they don’t shed as other breeds do. They love to play, are always happy and their mood is affectionate and gentle.

American Staffordshire Terrier

Also known as Amstaff, the American Staffordshire Terrier is more commonly called a Pit Bull. An intelligent and outgoing breed, they are extremely loyal and affectionate. Extremely strong for its size, the American Staffordshire Terrier comes in 18 different colors with markings. They require a substantial amount of exercise. They enjoy long daily walks or jogs. They have a smooth, shorthaired coat that is easy to groom. Playful with its family, the American Staffordshire Terrier is also very good with children.
