Multinational consumer goods company Procter & Gamble™ (P&G™) has expanded an earlier recall to include batches of its Iams® Veterinary and Eukanuba® dog food items on July 30, 2010. Salmonella contamination is cited as the reason for the recall. The affected products include Iams® Veterinary Dry Formulas — all dry sizes and varieties with “best by” dates between 7/1/10 and 12/1/11; Eukanuba® Naturally Wild and Pure dog foods — all dry sizes and varieties with a “Best By” date between 7/1/10 and 12/1/11; and Eukanuba® Custom Care Sensitive Skin dog food — all dry sizes with a “best by” date between 7/1/10 and 12/1/11. United Pet Group has expanded the recall of its Pro-Pet® Adult Daily Vitamin Supplement tablets for dogs. The entire list of recalled products can be found in the table below as provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which is aware of the recall. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning on January 14, 2010, about Merrick™ Beef Filet Squares. The affected product was manufactured at the Merrick™ Pet Care plant located in Amarillo, Texas, and was distributed nationwide through Internet sites and local retail stores. The reason for the recall was due to possible contamination by Salmonella bacteria. The product is marked with a package best by date of 11-19-11.
