Appearance

A cross between a Maltese and a Toy or Miniature Poodle, the Maltipoo is a little bundle of cuteness. They are quite small at around 8 to 14 inches in height and weighing from 5 to 20 pounds. Maltipoo puppies can look quite different from one to the next, as it depends what traits they have picked up from each of their parents. Their coat is a bit scruffy and sometimes curly. White or cream are the most commonly-seen colors but they can come in a variety of different shades. If the Maltipoo is curly like the poodle, she will need to be groomed professionally every 4 to 6 weeks.

Maltipoo Personality

The Maltipoo is a loving and calm designer dog. They can be described as clever and playful. They are said to have the intelligence of the Poodle and the sweet nature of the Maltese. This breed stays like a puppy into their later years. A Maltipoo that has been bred and raised properly will be friendly and easy to train. They are also known to be a bit mischievous. Be sure that you have gone with a trusted breeder, as you may end up with a noisy barking dog that is hard to train and has health problems. Maltipoos get along with both children and other dogs, but they are delicate and need to be protected from rough handling. The temperament of the puppy depends partly on what his mother was like and the amount of socialization he gets.
